Firefighters Podcast Web Design
The Firefighters Podcast celebrates the people who work in emergency services.
During April and May 2021, I worked with Pete Wakefield to design and build the firefighterspodcast.com website. The website was designed to act as an informational hub for the podcast, where people could learn more about it, listen to it and enquire about partnering with it.
Together, Pete and I looked at other websites to determine the kind of aesthetic he wanted. We decided that the web design should be energetic and bold, with a focus on the podcast itself. Using this input, I created a complete website design based on the existing logo and branding. The website would serve as a central hub for the Firefighters Podcast and a place where all episodes can be accessed.
The website is built on Wix, and the page connects to the Buzzsporut API to load podcast episodes. The website also includes an embedded player, so that visitors can listen to the podcast directly. On the site, you can also find information about the podcast, as well as a contact page and a page about partnering with the podcast. It also features an email subscription form, which allows us to capture the emails of people who are interested in the podcast to send them updates when new episodes are released.
My aim while working with the Firefighters Podcast was to efficiently deliver a bold and strong web design that suited the ethos of the podcast. Overall, I’m very happy with how the design turned out. It was great to work with Pete to create a website that promotes the podcast and helps it reach even more people.
