Lorna Livingston Counselling Website
In February 2020, I was asked by Dulwich-based counsellor Lorna Livingston to design and develop her website and logo.
The goal of the website was to pitch her services to prospective clients and encourage them to contact her. I coached Lorna to write the content for the website, and I based the structure of the site on what she wanted to say encouraging her to create specific pages about her counselling services in bereavement, anxiety, mindfulness etc.
I created a bespoke web design to match her vision. To develop the design, Lorna and I discussed what she liked about other websites and I used those discussions to translate her input into a modern, clear, and tasteful web design. The website was designed to be responsive, so it would look great on any device. I also incorporated search engine optimisation (SEO) best practices to help Lorna’s website rank highly in search engine results and appear in front of her target market.
To complement the website, I created a custom logo that reflected Lorna’s brand and message. The logo was designed to be used on her website, social media, and marketing materials.
I designed the website in Sketch and built it in Squarespace so Lorna could edit the content herself. The website is designed to be minimalistic and modern, with a focus on showcasing Lorna’s work. The Squarespace platform allows for easy content management, so Lorna can update the website as needed.
It was a breeze working with Lorna because she was always very forthcoming with writing, images and constructive feedback, and I’m very proud of the website we created together. Lorna quickly filled her books after launching the website, partly due to the pandemic, and partly due to the website’s attractive design that effectively communicates what she offers.
I worked with Lorna again between October 2022 and March 2023 to enhance her website by adding new pages about her latest services.
