Pam Foley Sculpture
In March 2021, Oxford-based sculptor Pam Foley asked me to update her website’s design and SEO. Having previously worked with Pam at Artists’ Union England, I was delighted to hear that she wanted to work with me again on her personal portfolio website.
The website was initially not optimised for SEO and was not mobile-friendly, so I set out to create a new website that features the sculptures for sale, is mobile-friendly, has a modern design and is optimised for SEO.
The purpose of the new website was to inform users about Pam’s work and to sell the artwork online, so I developed a new structure for the website and assisted Pam in developing the copy and content. To ensure the website was optimised for SEO, I implemented a few key strategies. I helped her to choose a new domain name that would help with her website keywords, I added meta tags to the website, created a sitemap and submitted the website to Google Search Console. I also spent time researching and optimising keywords to ensure that the website was being found for relevant search queries.
The new design was then set up on the Wix website she already had. Through the use of social media and a Mailchimp email newsletter, I helped Pam promote the site online after launch. It was my job to coach Pam and train her how to use social media and email newsletters.
The website has been well received and has been successful in increasing visibility for the artist’s work and driving more traffic. Pam was very satisfied with the end result and has since seen an increase in interest in her sculptures and artworks. She now has a modern and SEO-friendly website that she can use to promote her work and sell her sculptures online.
